Arai XD-4 Adventure Motorcycle Helmet, Solid.

Arai XD-4 has a well earned place at the top of most adventure motorcycle helmet lists thanks to the helmet’s renowned protection, customizable and comfortable fit, and superb ventilation. That and they just look so darned good.

Arai has succeeded in designing the XD-4 to perform equally well both on-road and off-road, so it makes an excellent choice for everything from the most adventurous of off-road adventures, to adventure touring where any variety of different terrains might be in play, or for riders who perhaps adventure closer to home but want a single versatile helmet.

On the outside…

On the outside the XD-4 is contoured for superior aerodynamic performance which together with its high-flow peak delivers a stable relaxed ride at all speeds and on all terrains.

To accommodate different riding conditions and rider preference the XD-4 has 3 configurations (3 according to Arai. We count 4 technically speaking: peak on, visor on; peak on, visor off; peak off, visor on; peak off, visor off.). Switching between the 3 or 4 is easy and can be done with just a key or coin.

The XD-4’s quality of ventilation and air-flow can not be overstated. Large sculpted side-cowl vents, additional chin vents, face shield brow vents, and top-diffuser exhaust ports all contribute to almost doubling the XD4’s internal airflow while still maintaining its stability at speed.

On the inside…

On the inside Arai’s patented peel-away FCS padding on the cheek pads and side/temple crown pads enable you to customize the fit of the helmet by peeling away an additional 5mm of padding where it may be needed by your unique head shape.

The interior padding also features Arai’s Dry-Cool technology for all-day cool and dry comfort, plus when the time comes the liner is fully removable, washable, and replaceable so you can keep things clean and fresh in there for the life of the helmet.

For emergency situations, the cheek pads have an Emergency Cheek Pad Release System that integrates pull-tabs into the underside of each cheek pad so helmet removal is safer and easier for trained medical personnel.
